Site Disclaimer:
This site contains links to emulators and roms.  Emulators are legal for use on your own computer, but 99% of all roms are not.  You may keep a rom file on your computer for play for a period of 24 hours.  After which, it must be deleted from your hard drive, else you violate copyright and patent laws.  By entering this site, you are agreeing to this disclaimer as well.  You may, however, keep a rom permanently on your hard drive, cd-disc or floppy disk as a backup.  You may only do this if you own the actual cartridge or cd-disc or floppy disk of the rom itself.  It's not illegal to keep backups of your software, just make sure you understand the laws.

Definitions:
Emulator - A program which copies, or "mimics" another software program OR physical machine itself.  Example being, an emulator for the Super Nintendo gaming console, is a software program which reproduces faithfully, more or less, the actual internal functions and programming of the Super Nintendo gaming console itself.  Thus giving you a 'virtual game system' on your PC for free.  Emulators are free to keep and use on your own computer.  It is NOT illegal to own, or operate an emulator in ANY part of the known world at this time.

Rom - A piece of software.  A ROM image, rom meaning "read only memory".  An image file of an actual video game, be it from an arcade machine (and exact duplicate in PC format used for play on a PC), or a gaming console like the Super Nintendo for example.  A rom is just basically a duped video game, placed into format for emulators to read, and then allow you to play.  You may only keep rom image files on your computer for 24 hours UNLESS you are keeping them for backup purposes.  In order to keep a rom image on your computer for backup purposes, you MUST own the rom (game) in it's original cartridge, cd-disc or arcade-board state, or be a licensee of the video game company itself, or have other criteria and credentials which would instate your authorization to keep backup copies of rom images on your local hard drive, floppy disk, zip drive, cd-disc, etc etc.

Piracy - The art of copying commercial software onto any type of media, i.e. hard drive, floppy disk, cd-disc, backup tape, zip drive, etc etc.  Also distributing, selling and trading commercial software in which both parties have not PAID for the software via license agreement during installion of the full-version of the product, is also considered piracy.  Piracy is punishable by law to great extents, including jail and/or prison time and heavy fines anywhere from $250.00 to over $1,000,000.00.  Please make sure you are not violating any laws by entering our site in YOUR local area or part of the world.
